Vermentino and Carignano

The Capichera vineyards are in the northern region of Sardinia called Gallura.
It is an area whose characteristics and geological origins have determined the typical landscape, rich in granitic rocks, the disintegration of which produces sandy soils, dissolved from acids to sub-acids, rich in potassium but with little phosphorus and nitrogen.

Particularly favourable conditions for wine production which, combined with carefully selection of the land, caring for the vineyards, patient processing in the cellar and the experience we have gained over the years, enable us to enthusiastically continue a journey which began 30 years ago.

Carignano

Carignano is a red grapevine, present throughout the western Mediterranean.
Until some time ago its diffusion in Sardinia was limited to the Sulcitan area, in the south of the island, but as it doesn't have any special soil needs as it is well suited to soils originated from granite disintegration typical of the Gallura.
Its bunch is of average size and compact, with medium-sized, ovoid shape grapes with a fleshy pulp with a colourless or slightly pink juice. The skin is reasonably thick and blue.

The wine obtained from Carignano grapes has the following organoleptic characteristics:
colour: more or less intense ruby red.
bouquet: winy, pleasantly intense.
flavour: dry, fruity, smooth.
